Passing the hat is both an art and a skill, and if you’ve ever mumbled your way through it, skipped it entirely, or walked away with less than you know your show is worth, you’re not alone! In this workshop, we’ll teach you how to *confidently and authentically* solicit tips in a way that fits your voice, honors your worth, and respects your audience. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or just starting to add a hatpass to your show, you’ll learn strategies to turn that awkward moment into a powerful and profitable closing.
In the first half of this online event, we’ll cover:
-Structuring your ask(s) to build momentum and payoff
-Tone, pacing, and delivery styles that connect with your audience
-Language that works (and what doesn’t)
-Non-verbal tools: timing, physicality, and using your space
-How to make the ask without killing the vibe (or your self esteem)
-Tips for handling walk outs, hecklers, and passive-aggressive patrons
Each participant will get personalized feedback and one on one coaching to refine their pitch and find an approach that feels authentic and effective for their show style. This workshop is ideal for entertainers who want to increase their hat, boost their confidence, and develop a pitch that lands every time. Class size limited to 7 participants, roughly a 2 hour workshop, $50 per person.
