Pricing, Contracts, and Negotiations

Tired of guessing what to charge or accepting rates that don’t reflect your value? This workshop is designed specifically for entertainers working the Renaissance and medieval festival circuit who want clarity, confidence, and strategy when it comes to pricing their work.

We’ll start with a presentation on day rates, pay structures, and industry terms and norms, followed by a live workshop portion where each participant gets personalized feedback and brainstorming on their unique situation.

This workshop will help you to:

-Set rates that reflect your experience, impact, and expenses
-Understand different compensation models in our industry
-Identify and articulate your value to entertainment directors
-Craft contracts that protect you while staying professional and approachable
-Navigate negotiations with confidence instead of defensiveness
-Handle counter-offers, red flags, and boundary-setting with grace

This is a collaborative session that thrives on real talk and shared wisdom. You’ll leave with a clearer sense of what you should be asking for and how to actually ask for it.

This class is ideal for performers ready to raise their rates, set better boundaries, and advocate for their professional worth on the circuit. Class size is limited to 7 participants, roughly a 2 hour class, $50 per person. Because this is a two-part session with a short lecture followed by one-on-one workshop time in a group setting, please be ready to take notes and ask questions!
